Journal - "Just a warning!"
Aug. 18th, 2010 10:05 pmSo my plan is to try and scan in a bunch of doodles from old school notebooks before going back to school next week. Also I want to scan all the dumb shit I've drawn at work this summer. Thus I just wanted to give a bit of a warning about a possible incoming flood of artdumps. My goal is to scan in and upload a ton of junk, but IDK if that will really happen because it just seems like I have SO MUCH stuff that I'll never manage to get it done.
Thanks for all the love while I was miserable. I might respond to a few things that people posted, but I'm a little embarrassed by my bad mood and never know how to respond to people being like: "YOU ARE AWESOME." other than being all: "THANKS I KNOW! :D" But I just want to let you guys know how much I appreciate all the support and affection. You spoil me.
I maybe have a True Blood post brewing in me too, but I'm not sure. I love/hate that they made Jason kill Franklin. I admit to having a horrible, embarrassing fondness for Jason/Tara so it kind of makes me go woo, and also the wooden bullets were there and fuck yeah continuity and foreshadowing and all that, but I know EXACTLY what it's supposed to mean that Jason killed Franklin - we're supposed to believe that this is what redeems him for shooting Eggs at the end of last season, which.... I can't really begin to forgive him until he comes clean to Tara at least. He owes her that much. Also, I don't really want the return of Tara's hero worship of Jason, but I do want to see them interact some more.
I also kind of don't love the little push towards Alcide/Sookie two episodes ago when all I could think was that Tara and Alcide could be really good for one another.
ANYWAY THIS IS NOT THE TRUE BLOOD POST SHUT UP SELF!
I still love the new Scooby-Doo series. It just hits a lot of my buttons for some reason. There are some things about it that really bother me, but there's something about the show that is keeping me hooked. And I drew some Fred/Daphne. BECAUSE I LOVE THEM.

Jun. 30th, 2010 01:32 pmSo I've been watching a lot of shit lately. I'm not a big movie/tv person, but it seems like I've been watching more of both as of late. I also get to see people going to movies and last night was the midnight showing of Eclipse and that was insane. D:

ETA: I have very little interest in going to see The Last Airbender for a variety of reasons, but I was wondering if there was anyone on my flist who is boycotting the movie, but would still like to know about some of the things it does? That is - is the tone as ~dark~ and ~edgy~ as the trailers make it seem or is it true that Katara's role has been diminished? Because I can go see the movie without supporting Paramount or M. Night (I get in for free because I work there) and part of me wants to hate-watch it because I can.
(I also sort of want to pay to see Toy Story 3 at least once because I DO want to throw support behind Pixar, but it's kind of hard to convince myself to pay when I don't have to... XD)

a/n: This was difficult to write. Because I have problems with Jason shooting Eggs and not being punished for it, even if that is Jason's LIFE. Getting away with shit.
I also was completely ambivalent to Eggs/Tara and I still can't watch Season One without breaking out into fits of "FUCK YOU AMY." because she is CRAZY and spouts SO MUCH BULLSHIT. So even though I didn't really like their respective love interests, they DID and I had to keep that in mind. And I couldn't get mushy, because there is way too much baggage and angry Tara-ness and dead people between them for things to get mushy.

a/n: I never asked permission to use the HA! fanart as icons, so uhhh. Take at your own risk? And if you get bitched at for it or something, direct their anger towards me. Everything's credited though, so hopefully it'll be cool. *worries*
I just REALLY wanted to make RPG World icons. It really is an excellent webcomic and I think the dude who did it had a real natural knack for comic making.
Also, I watched the new iCarly tonight and am pretty bummed at that ending. I dunno. Like, for some odd reason I had hope for iCarly to... grow into something more? But it's never going to be more than just a comedy show and the serious moments are always going to be made light of and there's going to be endings where nothing is resolved and that's not really my thing? I mean, I don't hate open endings, but the Sam/Freddie kiss is important and relevant to Carly, Sam and Freddie's friendship and they basically just left it hanging. This is just REALLY unsatisfying to me and feels like a let down of sorts.
IDK. I think it's that I really wanted iCarly to be the next HA! (THEY USED THE SAME GODDAMN IDEA FROM HA! IN THIS EPISODE ANWAY), but it doesn't have the heart that HA! does and it never will. :\

Journal - "Bad Things."

I ended up spending three nights at a friend's house, hanging out and partying and I loved getting to see her, because I don't get to hang with her enough. We ended up marathoning True Blood during the course of those three days and now I am kind of hooked. However, I do not have HBO! Luckily, both of my BFFs do!
Although, I have to admit, I'm much less interested in the vampire side of True Blood then I am in the Louisiana, backwater town, part of it. Also, I love Jason so much more than I expected to. And Tara breaks my heart and I hate that she isn't around and strong and raging as much this season.
But I'm home now, which is kind of a bummer, but I'm headed to the beach in NINE FUCKING DAYS with the two BFFs and it's going to be the best thing ever OMG.
Also! I wanted to let you guys know that I updated the Harold/Rhonda Fanart Spam post. I'll keep doing that every so often as more art comes forth. Obviously, it's never going to be a heavily drawn fandom couple, but I love it very much and like having a collection of artsy things for them. I'd do Helga/Arnold, but there's so damn much that it'd be much easier to just send people off to DA to look for themselves.
