Carly's face bugs me, but it was A LOT worse earlier today so this'll just have to do. Um, friggeng asked for Sam and Carly at prom. Not sure if she meant in a shippy sense, but THAT'S WHAT CAME OUT.

So like, I'm all about Sam/Freddie but I have this really surprising soft spot for Carly/Sam and get kind of pissy when people shoot it down and get all uppity about how Carly and Sam are NOT GAY EVER. BLAH. Carly and Sam's friendship can DEFINITELY be interpreted in a romantic way. And Sam is Carly's protector and Carly is Sam's conscious and I THINK THIS SHIP IS VERY PLAUSIBLE AND ALSO ADORABLE. I mean, I prefer them as BFFs, but DON'T DISS CARLY/SAM IT IS COOLER THAN YOU.




Haha! This is totally my favorite of this bunch. The joke is pulled from Hey Arnold! of course. Done for caety who wanted something with Sam and Freddie chilling on the roof, possibly during a dance. Sam is looking mighty comfy snuggled up to Fredwardo, eh?




For aerikah. I don't love it and it's possible I might end up doing something else with your music prompt, because I really like that song you picked and this drawing is just... okay.




For fragmentsofkat. She posted a gorgeous picture prompt. I didn't want to make it as smooshy and adorable as the picture was, but I wanted to give Sam and Freddie the same sort of... comfortability that the two people in the picture seemed to have. IDK.




a/n: OMG. It looks like 5_4_3_2's next challenge is going to be "Fairytale Fanart" and I AM SO EXCITED. Just today I was like: "SAM SHOULD BE RAPUNZEL. THE END."

Anyway, going home tomorrow so if you don't hear much from me in the next week or so, that's why. To the people in my flist living stateside, have an awesome Thanksgiving! For everyone else, ROCK ON!

Oh and if you want, you can still hit me up with iCarly prompts. Hmmmm. Let's say, gimme a ship/character - your best bet is to keep it within the main trio and I WILL take Carly/Freddie prompts, but I'm not making any promises about actually finishing them - and a... verb/emotion? NOTHING DIRTY OMG THEY ARE CHILDREN. Also, if you have a specific prompt in mind and want to forgo the Character/Ship + Verb/Emotion thing and just ask for something straight up, feel free to do that too. I'll take just about anything. As always, no promises about finishing all/any of them, but I'm still in a pretty fierce iCarly mood so HOPEFULLY!

Carly/Sam is just... it's surprisingly cute and if you want to interpret their friendship romantically they have SO MANY SHIPPY MOMENTS.

I could've gotten behind whenthey'reallgrownup!Spencer/Sam if Spencer wasn't Carly's brother. IDK. I just have a hard time seeing him being able to look past the "BUT THIS IS SAM WHO IS MY ITTY BITTY SISTER'S BEST FRIEND NOT COOL." thing. Also, they relate to one another in the show in much the same way that Carly relates to Spencer, so he's like a pseudo-brother to Sam and there are lines blurring there that I don't really want to cross. XD

Hee! I forgot you shipped Carly/Sam. I do not OTP them, but sometimes THEY ARE TOO CUTE to resist being like: "AWWWW CARLY/SAM!" And I actually think it would be AMAZING and AWESOME if Dan could take the show in a Carly/Sam direction. I know it can't REALLY be canon because Nick wouldn't allow it, but IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME.

If sam and freddie was not a possibility i could see that. If i had to pic another one it would probably be carly and sam. I do agree with one thing you said though in the op. Carly being the concious and Sam being the protector. I see that in a BFF way though. I think you did a good job with the first pic because it comes off as both platonic for those who may not like carly/sam romantically and it could come off as shippy if you are into carly/sam romantically. Didnt mean to leave that out of my first comment. I was just in hurry so thats why i just commented on the sam/freddie. :)

That's kind of how I feel. If I didn't love Sam/Freddie as much as I do, I'd be all about the Carly/Sam. But as it is, I really love their BFF moments as strictly BFF moments. It's the same way with Carly/Freddie - I LOOOOOOOVE their friendship, but I don't really get shippy feelings from them. I see what other people like about Carly/Sam and Carly/Freddie, but I just like Sam/Freddie better in the end.

Heee. I like that song because it makes me want to just draw Sam and Freddie being all close to one another and being awkward and adorable and possibly snuggly, but THEY ARE AFRAID TO BREAK THIS NEWNESS OF THEIR SITUATION. Or something.

I also want to comment on the first sam and freddie pic. I think people who feel the dynamic of sam/freddie would change if they went out need to see that first one. Sam would still be Sam imo if her and freddie went out. I think that pic portrays that well.

Well, I do think there would be SOME change. But change isn't necessarily a bad thing - a show that is totally stagnant and doesn't allow for character growth and development is... really boring. I mean, I think Sam and Freddie's friendship has already changed pretty drastically from iPilot. Sam likes and respects Freddie now! She goes to him with her troubles! Freddie actually sort of digs the way she picks on him! HE BRINGS HER BACON SOMETIMES. <3333

So, uh. I wouldn't mind changes in Freddie and Sam's relationship as long as it was a natural sort of progression like it has been thus far. But I do think that Sam would still pick on him and he'd still be at the mercy of her mood swings, but I think they'd be better at understanding one another by that point.

Your feelings on Carly/Sam are so similar to mine. I love Sam/Freddie above all else, but if I see anyone being mean about Carly/Sam, I get all pissy and defensive. If it weren't for Sam/Freddie owning my life in general, I'd be a Carly/Sam shipper.

Exactly. Carly/Sam is not my OTP, but it COULD be. Because they're adorable together and the show definitely acknowledges it. Also, I'm looking forward to iQuit iCarly because OMG THE CARLY/SAM IS GOING TO BE OFF THE CHARTS!!!

But yeah, I really hate it when people think Cam fans are completely wrong about Carly and Sam, because Carly and Sam could never be gay at all. Because I don't agree with that? I mean, yes the show tells us that the girls both like to chase after boys, but it's possible to like girls in addition to boys and the teen years are all about figuring yourself out anyway. Basically, Carly/Sam is a totally plausible ship that comes attached to some insanely cute canon moments and it's cool if people don't see them in a shippy way as long as they realize that it's possible that other people are going to interpret Sam/Carly in a different way and not jump on them for it.

Exactly! We know that Carly/Sam is not going to happen this being Nickelodeon, but it COULD happen. It's entirely plausible.

Also, may I make a request for a drawing? This is going to sound nuts, but I have this image in my head of Sam and Freddie on an international mission as agents. Think James Bond meets Kim Possible. If you feel so inclined, please draw something similar.

I pretty much feel the same way about Carly/Sam. It's not my ship of choice but it is quite plausible. Like you said, Carly is Sam's conscious and there are moments with them where I'm like "yeah, that's kinda gay." Like "The Cowboy With a Mustache and the Idiot Farm Girl who Thought the Mustache was a Squirrel" sketch. If I didn't looove Same/Freddie and Freddie himself so much, I'd be all over that ship.

Anyway, really nice art! My favorite is the second to last one where Sam and Freddie are being all adorabely awkward.

Well, Dan did manage to go pretty far with Drake/Josh (they even kissed on the mouth!) so he could do the same for Carly/Sam. I'd still like Sam/Freddie better though. *shrug*

Well, the difference is that Drake and Josh are boys and boys kissing is "funny". It gets played for laughs. Whereas if two girls kissed on TV it would be "hot" and sexualized? Like, obviously, this is NOT right, but it seems to be that way on TV. Boys kissing = okay when it's done for laughs, girls kissing = can never be funny and may only be used to make as a 'stunt' to entice the boys. So like... I don't think Nick would be down with a F/F kiss like the Drake/Josh one?

I'm not explaining it super well, because I am home and lounging and not up to full brain capacity, but basically there are double standards here and they suck.

Ahh, those double standards are true. You're right: male homosexuality can get played for laughs but female homosexuality can't because females themselves are very sexualized. Fail. :(

Though I wasn't really thinking Carly and Sam could kiss - just that there could be more winks and nudges for their ship. They have a quite few already and I was thinking Dan has done that with a gay ship before.

Wow! I love your work! It's amazing how you can keep the characters' personalities while transforming them into cartoons! That's just awesome! I love artists who are creative like that! ^_^ And the Carly/Sam, Freddie/Sam adorableness of your pictures is too much to handle!

I also really like the use of basic colors against white in the third picture. =) Very simple yet eye catching!

Awww thanks! I'm glad that they're still recognizable as being Sam/Freddie/Carly-like even if they aren't the best at looking exactly like the actors.

I love fluff and cuteness so I'm enjoying being able to draw the characters getting snuggly with one another.

Hee! Awesome. I mean, you can still sort of interpret as a friendship moment between the two, but yeah I definitely am down with Carly/Sam. I love those moments where Spencer gets all parental on her.

Carly/Freddie is really not my cup of tea, but most of the people who like it seem pretty cool. Plus Sam/Freddie shippers totally outnumber the Carly/Freddie fans and so I'm endeared to them for being the underdogs.

Also, I do not hate the way that Carly/Freddie is developing in the show. I like that Freddie's feelings are cooling while Carly's are growing? And like, how adorable was their dance at the end of iSpeed Date? REALLY ADORABLE.

YES. The talk Spencer and Carly almost had during iSpeed Date made me LAUGH SO HARD. I loved it.

Yeah, while... we still have tons and tons of loonies on our "team", for the most part we're very chill and relaxed. Mostly. Haha.

Oh yeah, agreed. It's going in a direction I'm really enjoying, and I'm honestly happy with whatever scenes we get, I've stopped caring about "what happens at the end.". And... that's probably my favorite scene thus far on the show that wasn't played for humor. it was really well done with sam and it was so cute I died. <3

I'm like you -- I ship Seddie, but if I had to choose a second couple from the show, it would be Cam. I think that out of all the show's possible ships, they would be the one with the least problems. Sure, they would fight sometimes, but they would always make up.

The last picture is lovely. They look so comfortable with each other.
