[livejournal.com profile] homestar prompted me with this song. And then told me to think of Dance Parties. And somehow I went from Dance Party to the Peanuts' dance? IDK. I just wanted to draw Carly, Freddie and Sam in a Peanuts-esque style. Plus some dancing.

I also made an icon out of it and so I finally have some sort of iCarly icon. Go me!

Also, if you haven't noticed, I have apparently given the gang assigned colors? IDK why. I just like to associate characters and people with certain colors.

a/n: Haven't really had much time to dig into some of the recent prompts I got. My goal ATM is to work on the next chapter of Trying and get it out before I have to go home for Thanksgiving Break. Oh and BTW I won't be around much from next Tuesday-Monday. I'll be home and with limited internet access.

ETA: Okay, so you guys need to keep reminding me that I AM TOO OLD to go submitting pics I've drawn to iCarly.com. BECAUSE I AM WAY TOO TEMPTED YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Haha, I actually thought about sending him a link on twitter, but I feel like that doing that would be WAY too self-indulgent. IDK. I have troubles with creators, because like... I want SO BADLY to show them all the stuff I've drawn for their shows and have them pat me on the head and tell me I am awesome, but I'm also really wary of them as well? I mean, okay, I'm wary of Dan and most other creators, but I'm pretty much a total suck up to Craig Bartlett (creator of Hey Arnold!).

IDK. I am stupid about these sorts of things, because I both want the attention and fear it. Also, getting too close to creators can sometimes ruin a show for you, I think. And also, creators are awesome at arms length because you can respect them and look up to them and love their creation, but when you get to know them you realize that they are FLAWED and HUMAN and that's always kind of unfortunate.

So basically. I WANT TO SHOW DAN AND SEND THIS IN TO iCARLY.COM, but I HAVE RESERVATIONS ABOUT IT.

I don't think it's self-indulgent at all. Lots of people send Dan their artwork and yours is actually really professional-looking and well done compared to some of the stuff I've seen others send him. Plus, he seems like a pretty cool guy IMHO. I don't know of a lot of producers/creators who interact with their fans as much as he does. Like that "Hitler finds out about the Creddie kiss" video on YouTube. Have you seen it? Somebody sent him the link on Twitter and I believe his response was something like, "OMG THIS IS AWESOME, WHO MADE THIS?!?" Okay, he didn't go all capslock crazy like I just did, but still. Haha.

I'm sure he's got flaws like every other human being on the planet, but ya know, unless I read the headline "DAN SCHNEIDER, CREATOR OF HIT TV SHOW 'iCARLY', PUNCHES INNOCENT PUPPY" in the newspaper tomorrow there's not much the guy could do to make me think of him as anything less than awesome. But that's just me. :)

I do understand what you're saying, though. It's always a little nerve-wracking when you have to share something you created with others and subject yourself to their critical eye. Maybe you'd feel more comfortable e-mailing him your artwork?

Well, I figure at least part of the reason that most of the other art isn't as. - God, I don't know how to say this without seeming like a dick, but - GOOD as mine is because they are much younger than me or not really focused on improving their art or just... IDK. I mean, I'm going to art school and I draw ALL the time, so I feel bad making comparisons and I'm actually kind of mediocre at art, but WHATEVER. Anyway, the point is that I am 20 years old and an art student and not the target age group so I almost feel like it is TOO SILLY for me to show him my art or something. I cannot explain it!

Also, I did not see the 'Hitler finds out about the Creddie kiss' video, but OMGosh. HILARIOUS.

Oh the other thing about not sending him my art is because I do not want to be perceived as an asskiss by my fellow fans or anything like that. Like, Dan is cool and I think his shows are fun, but I do not really need or maybe even want his approval to make art. Like I said, I have reservations about sending him art for many different reasons.

I guess I just don't want people to discount my opinions because they think I have my head shoved up Dan Schneider's ass or something. Because that sort of thing seems to happen in the iCarly fandom!

Whereas, when I draw graffiti on Craig Bartlett's wall or he comments on a picture I drew here or there everyone seems to react in a more: "Wow, that's awesome!" way.

IDK if any of this makes sense. I'm just sort of rambling out my thoughts as they come.
