Another ADVENTURE IN SPACE. The trio prepares for their final battle, but Ripp is... distracted.





I try my hand at Jaxy and Frances. Also Ophelia is looking adorable in a hoodie.





Last is my fav. A page of trio sketches! There's Ripp and Johnny holding on to one another. Johnny's in a spacesuit and Ripp can't believe he's come down. Also Recovering the Satellites is basically the Strangetown Anthem. I swear. Then Johnny feeling alive and the stars surround him. Ophelia reaching for something or nothing. Then a sexy little trio sketch of Ripp getting frisky with Phi who was trying to tell Johnny something and Johnny isn't quite as disinterested as he lets on.




a/n: The last of my recent Strangetown binge. Can't say when there'll be more, I jump fandoms all the time.

Heehee, the little comic is cute. I love the closeup of Johnny's eyes, the arrow looks like it's pointing at The Brow.

But the one of Ripp holding Johnny's face is my fav. *sigh* so sweet.

I really like that song. I had never heard it before.

I love that one too! If I had to pick a favorite two-person arc of the trios...trio-ness I'd totally take Johnny/Ripp. I love their weird chemistry and general closeness. I still prefer them as an awesome crime-fighting trio of love though.

It's a great song that reminds me of RPG games wherein there's always that one town that is utterly devoted to flying machines. Also it really fits Strangetown. Small town, dedicated forever and a day to the skies.

Anything by the Counting Crows is pretty damn good. There's something poetic about their songs.

My favourite thing about The Brow is that Johnny has these immaculately plucked eyebrows. His brows have that sort of shape anyway, but then Maxis accentuated it by giving him the plucked option for how they're groomed. I always found that a little odd, but I kept it that way, so it just adds to Johnny's Johnny-ness. He has a bit of a mixture of masculine and feminine qualities. I like how that refers to the androgyny of his alien side. I gave him that hair to play that up the fussy, well-groomed thing too.

(Man, I need to get the next update out...)

You know, I've never really followed the Counting Crows, but you're the second person that mentioned it in relation to my story, so there must be something to it. I love that song you've picked out. I'll have to earmark it for possible use as suggested music in a future update.

Definitely look into them. I really love pretty much all their songs. I'm hoping to get my hands on some of their live stuff, because they have a habit of extending songs and combining them. I listened to their song 'Have You Seen Me Lately' like a BILLION times while drawing that one picture of the trio in bed.

Ripp is so damn distractable. If only they hadn't been made to wear those skintight spacesuits!

I'm not crazy about the Frances drawing, but hopefully I'll get better.

That comic is so cute. I love how Ripp is purring like a cat. :D He is sort of catlike (but more of a dirty old tom than anything else). I love how Johnny attempts to keep everyone focused, and then just loses it at the end. What a drama king.

I really love your drawing of Jaxy. She looks so stylish and dangerous. All of those are really nice, but she jumps out at me the most. Frances is so cute and sad. You've captured his nose pretty well. It's an odd nose. Sort of short and upturned, with a crazy bump on the bridge. It looks a little bit like someone smashed him into a wall and broke it. I love getting weird little details like that in the Maxis sims. It's definitely better than everyone having the same nose.

I think the one with Ripp holding Johnny's face is my favourite too. Ripp seems to be the type to seize a person's face in his hands, especially Johnny's. I really like how you've drawn them there, with Johnny that much taller than Ripp.

Johnny's reading a book in the last one, right? *snicker* It must be hard to get any studying done when Ripp is mounting Ophelia like that, right there in the same room.

I can only imagine how long their space adventure would take. They'd have to keep stopping every ten minutes for make-out breaks. Poor Johnny. Ripp, however, is in heaven. Ophelia in a super tight spacesuit? Hot alien chicks at every turn? Who cares that he keeps getting kidnapped - he's SO FUCKING HAPPY.

Jaxy took forever if I remember correctly. But she's definitely my fave from that page. Frances was HARD to draw. He just was never sad enough. I like his nose too and am pleased with the maxis sims. They make very distinct characters.

I love the Johnny/Ripp one. I love how touchy Ripp is and how Johnny is so used to it by this point.

Well, TRYING to read a book. However, he doesn't seem all that displeased with the interruption.

Ah, a lot of people seemed fond of the Johnny/Ripp one. Me too actually. I love making those two all snuggly.
