I made a Tauren Hunter today on WoW and THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY. I don't even have a pet yet and I'm totes digging having such an awesome range to fight. Also, if Calvin (from Ternion) played WoW he'd totally be a female Tauren Hunter and he'd be AWESOME. AWESOME LIKE ME.

Still undecided about whether to keep playing or not. Tomorrow's the last day of my trial. :\

I hate that only Blood Elves can be Paladins on the Horde side. I was basically born to be a Paladin. Defense/Healing? Yeah. That's me. ALL THE WAY. But you have to pay moooore for Blood Elves and they are not the race I'd want to be anyway. Whatever.

The undead are my favorites, but I don't really mesh with the classes that they have under them. I love my Undead Warrior chick, but the Warrior class doesn't completely appeal to me? I do like being able to take a beating though. And when you're Undead you get to EAT CORPSES. It's awesome.

Um, sorry for being so boring and talking 'bout WoW. I will move on from this game soon enough (especially if I cheap out and don't buy it.....).

Anyway, GIMME FANDOMS SO I CAN TELL YOU WHAT I THINK ABOUT THEM.

I agree that the lack of shipping wars is nice. But I think all that aggression is channeled into: "YOUR SIMS ARE HIDEOUS AND DON'T MEET MY OWN PERSONAL STANDARD OF BEAUTY" that we see so often in Simsecrets and variations on that.

I think the main problem is that the Sims fandom has major entitlement issues. Yes, there are some very cool, down to earth people in the Sims comm. But there are also a lot of crazies, especially once you start heading up the ladder of BNF creators.

Yes, you made some awesome content for the game! You're a pretty cool person for providing this for people who wouldn't know how to do it themselves. Thanks! However, this DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE AN ASSHOLE ABOUT IT. I really dislike a lot of 4chan humor. I guess I kind of disagree that the internet shouldn't be taken seriously. Like, no - this is not the be-all end-all of my existence, but I still like it when we're civil and human to one another. Also, beneath the 4chan humor lies ITS TERRIFYING UNDERBELLY.

Um, I got sidetracked looking for that article. Basically, I do think there are some awesome things about the Sims comm, but for the most part I think it's a very negative fandom and I don't particularly like a lot of the people in it.

(I think there's a lack of gen/adventure fic in every fandom - even the Sims comm suffers from that lack too.)










ps I like Sora/Tai and Mimi/Joe and I had the most ridiculous crush on Matt. I had a fan character that ended up with him. However, I only thought about her in my head, so it was okay. XD

I stopped watching at some point in Season Two because it was getting too dark and I didn't like that they were adding so many digi-destined.

That article is very interesting (but scary, you're absolutely right). This is why the Internet should be taken more seriously than it is right now. Maybe we are not seeing each other face to face, but we are interacting with other human beings nonetheless, and as such they deserve as much respect as if they were standing in front of us.

Yeah, there are lots of crazies in the Sims fandom. And lots of negativity. The Secrets community is indeed a prime example of how low they can fall, and how stupid the reasons for trolling other sim players are. A lot of the BNF need a chill pill ASAP. I often roll my eyes when one of them dramatically flounces and takes all his/her toys with them. Meh... considering the amount of custom content available right now, it's not that big a loss. Same goes for restrictive terms of use and the whole paysite vs freesite drama.

(What's worse is that most of the trolls are people over their thirties. A lot of them even have children!)

I often need to take vacations from the Sims drama, because there are times in which I get pulled into the stupid fights, despite being a relatively pacific fan (or so I hope).

Yeah, all fandoms should have more genfic. I love romance, but the highschool romance stories get old in the long term. Or maybe I've grown too old for that :S

P.S. I was a Takari shipper. There, I said it :D. But I promise I was a sane one and I even liked Davis very much too. I watched up til Season 3, and I still enjoyed it (Guilmon, from Tamers, is adorable). Season 4 was boring and I never watched the last one. I agree that adding so many digidestined ruined the show in part, although I laughed at the little mexican one :P.
