So I've caught a bunch of premieres and have been following a bunch of shows lately so I figured I'd sit down and do a post to sort of write out my thoughts on them all.

Mad Men: This show is just consistently awesome. I also love it because it's one of the only shows on TV that I find it incredibly difficult to figure out where it's going next. I can usually call scenes/developments that are going to happen in shows like Scooby or True Blood or even Community sometimes, but Mad Men just... pushes it all one step beyond what I expected.

Also, I am totally waiting for Glen's return as I imagine that will be a really drama-filled ep. I kind of feel like he might... sort of-not really kidnap Sally? IDK. But he's creepy and that whole plot is going somewhere.

I wish Sally could live with Don, but that's actually a terrible idea unless Don completely changed who he is and like... worked less. I hope Betty and Sally can eventually come to terms, but I don't see that happening until MUCH later when Sally is able to step back and realize just how trapped her mother really is.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc: Is on hiatus. ;___;

But I like that it's really and truly developing the characters and their relationships with one another. It's kind of a bummer that we're still pushing the Velma/Shaggy/Scooby hate triangle or whatever, but I am hoping that there is a reason for it and eventual development, which ends with everyone loving one another forever and always. I NEED IT.

I'm also excited for the Fred/Daphne plot to pick up again soon! And I'm pumped for the next episode because it's apparently going to have quite a bit Mr. E development in it according to the online game.

Running Wilde: I liked the premiere! It felt like the character/story isn't quite as "tight" as Arrested Development was, but that might be something that develops as it goes along. Also, I know it's unfair to compare it to AD, but... I think that's unavoidable really.

I don't quite like Puddle narrating things. It made sense when she wasn't talking, but now that she IS speaking it's sort of like... hmmmmmm. The voiceover in AD makes logical sense and added a lot of humor to it, but Puddle's voice over... I don't like it as much. Maybe that'll change, we're only one episode in.

David Cross steals every scene he's in. Which is sort of a double-edged sword. His secondary character is already funnier than the main cast. So... it's good that he's reoccurring, I suppose. I'd love to see him guest star on Community, but then the Community cast is basically perfect (much like the AD cast) so I think he'd be on much more even comedic playing field (I love Keri Russell, but she didn't really hold her own next to Cross - but then she might not have had the material to do so... I would like to rewatch the pilot hahaha).

Sym-Bionic Titan: The first episode was sort of dull, but I liked the second. I hope they get rid of all the secrecy stuff early on (because as long as Illana and Lance are pretending to be brother-sister they probably won't make out D:). I also like the little character moments between the lead three much more than I like all the other parts, hahahaha.

So, I'm interested, but not entirely sold yet. Right now it's sort of... running to close to being a cliche. I need it to take some stuff and start flipping it on it's head for me to really be like: "OH FUCK YEAH" about it.

Wakfu: I'm watching it. Slowly. Really slowly. It's supposed to pick up after ten episodes, but getting through the first ten is... rough. I like the animation and character designs though!

COMMUNITY: I loved the premiere. Haters to the left.

I love how there's always going to be this "thing" between Jeff and Britta and I think this ep is sort of (unintentional) proof of that. Even if they aren't romantically linked they're still... fixated on one another. Everything they do is some sick competition! SO TRUE. They match each other tit-for-tat; punch-punch-parry and I looooove that sort of relationship in fiction.

(still want some britta/troy makeouts please!)

I didn't find Annie's reactions that cringe worthy like a lot of people seemed to. IDK, 19 is still a young, stupid age and I don't think everyone (especially someone like Annie who hasn't really had much experience with dating and dudes and relationships in general) gets past that sort of juvenile mindset after a year of college. And I found all Allison Brie's reaction faces absolutely hilarious and couldn't really find much of an issue with how she was handled. YMMV, obvs.

I was kind of "eh" on Betty White the first time through, but I really found myself enjoying her bits upon rewatching. I like how they handled her as an eccentric character who is eccentric in her own right and not just because she is "a cute old lady saying crazy things!", which is basically how people have been using her as an actress since the Betty White craze started. June Bauer is a character that FITS into the Community world (unlike Pierce's stepdaughter or Buddy - who was waaaay too much of a character and way too much Jack Black).

Troy is my favorite, forever. HE HAS ALL THE BEST LINES.

I loved him asking Annie where the cleanest bathroom is and HER FACE and HER VOICE. That sort of deadpan hilariousness, I love it. MORE SNARKY, ANNOYED ANNIE PLEASE. Less baby face!

I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] obsessive0514 that I want so much more Shirley this season AND IT IS TRUE. I especially want a Shirley/Jeff sort of episode or something where we get Shirley sort of asserting herself as sexual person instead of just the group "mom". Especially when Jeff and Shirley are actually pretty close age-wise, but he has never ever seen her like he sees Annie and Britta. Despite the fact that she clearly finds him attractive. I want there to be conflict there with her sort of feeling left out, but not really, but still kind of pissed that the only person who is really into her in the study group is Pierce and EWWWW.

Also more kissing between the study group in combinations that don't involve Jeff. :\

Um. I think that is all my Community thoughts. TUNE IN NEXT WEEK. Haha.

I looked up the new Scooby Doo (since I was intrigued by the romance angle lol) and omg I had no idea the original Shaggy was voiced by Casey Kasem! And that he now plays Shaggy's father in the new series.

What I read about it sounds interesting... I like how they're making it more of a show for teens/young adults vs. kids. I mean, the characters are teens, after all... so it makes sense. :)

Yeah, I loved that they have Casey as Shaggy's dad! It's such a cool way of tying it back to the original series.

It's a pretty cool show and new eps premiere Monday nights at 7. I actually think the show makes it's return next Monday if you're interested in checking it out. But it's definitely geared towards teenagers over kids. It's not crude or anything, but the humor tends to be more sarcastic and snarky. There's still a lot of classic jokes/slapstick though. :D

I want Jeff and Richard (Doc. Pottery Wood) to make out.

Just thought you should know.

ALSO; I adored the season premiere. I think it was the strongest of the ones I watched (House, BBT out of morbid curiosity, and Modern Family), but I mght be biased.

Lol! XD

<333 Jeff, but so sick of Jeff being the romantic epicenter of the Community universe. And I'm sick of all the romance revolving around the young, pretty, white characters on the show. D:

TBH, I don't mind him smooching everything that moves, but that's because I have the hots for him. I wouldn't really mind it either if he stopped. Regarding this show, I just go with the flow.
I WOULD like to see Shirley getting some action tho :P

Yes to everything about Shirley. If though this show does a good job of subverting racial stereotypes they could still do way better. At least in regards to shirley. I loved the ep and didnt see why others wouldnt like it, I only saw a couple of people complaining about Annie being to childish which I dont get because she's always been like that. and that's why I am not really a jeff/annie shipper but i dont dislike their dynamic at all, it's cute and just got even more complicated after he kissed her but i guess as long as it's kept with her crushing on himm and jeff being ~conflicted~ it's fine. if he has sex with her now though it'll be so gross and creepy IMO. If he waits say a few more years, then yea i wont care lol. basically just yes to everything. ESP this:Even if they aren't romantically linked they're still... fixated on one another. Everything they do is some sick competition! SO TRUE. They match each other tit-for-tat; punch-punch-parry and I looooove that sort of relationship in fiction.
pretty much exactly why I ship them and why I like them scheming or fighting/competing more than I do when they are making out (but I like that too lol) and yes Britta/Troy! I love that this is a show where I can feasibly ship both couples and actually get rewarded in the cannon at some point. <3

Yeah, I love how much the show pushes things, but I STILL WANT MORE. I mean, Shirley isn't COMPLETELY left out of the things when it comes to people in the group seeing her as a sexual being - Troy counts her as a doughnut and they had a bit of a glance during Romantic Expressionism, so at least someone besides Pierce really sees her as something other than the "mom".

But the Shirley/Troy age gap is gigantic and squicks me out a lot so I don't really want that at all. Also, Shirley just deserves someone better and more mature than Troy anyway (I hope she gets a long term boyfriend at some point who's genuinely into her).

Yeah, I thought Annie was pretty much Annie in the premiere. And I like the Jeff/Annie dynamic, but I can't really see it happening and working? They're just at... such different points in their lives that I just like... it doesn't really compute for me.

I'm very drawn to the Britta/Jeff pairing because of their strange obsession with each other and how... above all the relationship stuff they always sort of turn to one another as like... partners in crime. And I loooooove that kind of pairing.

But I admit to really wanting Britta/Troy to happen at some point! He totally has a weird crush on her! Even in the Kickpuncher comic it is apparent (she actually retains her personality and has lines whereas Annie is reverted into generic "OH NO!" kind of sayings).

I also think Abed might be a bit into Annie. He was bored/unconcerned/played along with the Jeff/Britta stuff in the last episode, but the whole charade ended when he heard about Jeff kissing Annie and immediately got all "WHEN? WHERE?".

I LOVE ALL THE SHIPS BASICALLY. I WANT THEM ALL.
