“These stupid fucking batteries are dead!”

Sami sighed and reached over to pry the flashlight out of Dan’s hands. He snarled and gripped the light tighter.

“Dan, let go.” She urged gently.

“It’s BROKEN and it’s DARK and there’s CRAZY PSYCHO MURDERERS stealing band kids out there and we’re fucking DOOMED!” He screamed as he shook the flashlight in a fit of rage. Sami winced and let out a long sigh.

“Would you just let me see the darn thing?” She said in exasperation. Dan scowled and shoved the flashlight towards her.

“Fine. HERE.”

Sami studied the light for a moment before flipping the switch in the opposite direction.

The light flickered on.

“There.” She said coolly and handed it back to him.

“I could have done that...” He sulked.

“Yeah, sure.”
