I don't read romance fics too often; partly because the plot always seems to revolve around sex; mostly because the story's just crap. But...
While most of it is a torturous read, it's fluid, almost breakneck pace was a potent mix with the imagery thrown into the story (which was painful sometimes to imagine). I didn't initially like the idea of Helga's welfare being affected by Arnold (especially if he was assholey enough to leave her behind in the dust), but then my brain started working and I understood. It would be difficult for Helga, especially in this scenario whereas she had loved Arnold for so long, to overcome her feelings of a certain footballhead. What's more; the characters are actually IN character and it all concluded on an open-ended, but more happy note. I would've hated Helga's misery to have been the conclusion of this beautiful little oneshot.
